I knew Jamie had been having a rough run recently, but I hadn't realised it had got THAT bad. ashamedwink

The Islamabad organisers are pretty (old)LTA-like at updating the results anywhere online, but these being the country's top tennis tournaments of the year, the Associated Press of Pakistan is doing much better http://www.app.com.pk/en_/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=56352&Itemid=38 - and they've changed Fitzy's name to stop his mates finding the result with a web search, which is very thoughtful of them evileye

"Fitzpartick Andres (GBR)" biggrin

Unfortunately, Maniel had a shocker too, losing to an unranked 27-year-old, though he did have a career high of 1111 back in 2003 before taking a long break, while Feaver faces a lucky loser next, who happens to be Fitzy's doubles partner. So we have:

L32: Maniel Bains WR 1209 lost to Issam Jellali (TUN) UNR by 4 & 3 bleh
L32: (6) James Feaver WR 799 beat "Andres Fitzpartick" WR 1271 by 0 & 2 smilecry

L16: (6) James Feaver WR 799 v (LL) Rohan Gide (IND) WR 1347

Another (rather silly) stat for Fitzy from ITF - four Fitzpatricks have tried to get an ATP ranking (Matt and Mark from AUS, Derek from USA and now you) and you're the only one who's managed it!

arent i just holding up the family name, killing me there is a certain fitzpatrick (anna) that has the same birth-date, same initials everything exactly the same down to the year and day. And she is higher than me, but i suppose that is womens rankings!
just kidding.... for all those women tennis fans out there.
Funny how im here, and i didnt even know if bains won or not.
feaver wont struggle with my doubles partner, he missed two running volleys on top of the net, and they almost went out the staduim without a bounce. Safe to say he likes to smack the crap out of the ball, when its really not necessary.

Ill predict a 2 and 2 win for feaver. where he will just run about with his chains dangling around his neck for about 1 hr 30 mins and then run off court.

andres.... not happy about that at all. not really an upgrade

Have you ever met Anna Fitz? Has anyone ever seen you in the same room together? Can we be certain you aren't the same person? She is kinda tall.

Patrick Taubert will not be a completely unknown quantity to James, as he & Maniel beat him & the Georgian, Lazare Kukhalashvili, in the quarter-finals of the doubles! smile  Hope that augurs well... pray.gif

Good stuff from James - his draw has opened up too, with all the other seeds in his half going out in R1! smile.gif Today's additional point will get him into the top 750 a week next Monday. He does have 8 more points to come off this year, in Nov & Dec, including 6 for reaching the semis of Rwanda F1 last year.

Taubert has limited 'previous' against Brits in singles - straight sets wins against Pierre Clad  and Richard Stera and a w/o against Myles Blake don't tell us much.
