MTB HH-BU Serving order Ullyett/Hutchins/Bjorkman/Huss
0-1 ace 1-1 1-2 mb. Hutchins foot-faulted on 1st serve. 1-3 2-3 mb back 3-3 4-3 happily on serve 4-4 5-4 mb 6-4 monster ace from ross 7-4 7-5 8-5 2 mbs up 9-5 FOUR MATCH POINTS
Incredible result, probably Ross's best ever - that'll take him up to about 41 in the world! They probably need to win the Final for him to actually crack the top 40.

Phew! Wow! Cracking win in what appears from the LS to have been a cracking match last just 27 seconds short of two hours! Looks as though this partnership is really going somewhere. Well done, boys! You're proving you can genuinely mix it with the big boys now!
We shan't know until tomorrow who their opponents in the final will be, as Ascione/Gicquel vs Llodra/Ram (2) does not appear in today's OoP. If it's the former, there'll be a chance to avenge Jamie's & Robert's defeat earlier in the week. If the latter, although Llodra & Ram are individually both experienced doubles players, the partnership itself hasn't had much chance to gel: they beat Darcis & C Rochus in the first round, but had a walkover against Sébastien Grosjean & JWT in the QFs. "Our" boys, on the other hand, have now played three solid matches, seen off two seeded pairs on their way to the final & come through with flying colours. They must fancy their chances just a little bit on Sunday...
Great result really enjoying following Ross' progress at the moment. Anyone know roughly how high these guys need to get before they get to a level where they will be getting automatically into Masters events?
The combined cuts for AMS doubles main draws so far this year have been as follows - they don't move with the size of the draws as closely as you'd think!
61 - Indian Wells 77 - Miami 57 - Monte Carlo 64 - Rome 60 - Hamburg 47 - Toronto 95 - Cincy 68 - Madrid
From that, it looks like a combined ranking of 60 will usually be enough, so they both need to be in or around the top 30. It's singles players being able to count their singles ranking instead of their doubles ranking that makes it so tight.

A bit late for me, as a member of the "lover of doubles club", to be adding my congratulations to H&H for another top performance. I've been unable to log on before now. Needless to say, I'm chuffed to little mintballs that the two of them have reached another ATP final. It's the best result of the week, so far, for me.
I'm not even surprised at these results any more. They have clearly worked hard at theit games and should now be considered a top pairing who can beat anyone on their day.

I tend to agree......not heard from Ross today...i have passed on 'our' congratulations.
