Katie O'Brien is the sole Brit in a fairly strong qualifying draw. She starts against an opponent who beat her earlier in the year in Dubai:

(1) Ekaterina Makarova RUS v Dominika Nociarova SVK
Eva Hrdinova (CZE) v Katie O'Brien (GBR)
Elena Vesnina (RUS) v Nina Bratchikova (RUS)
Kathrin Woerle (GER) v (7) Aravane Rezai (FRA)

Katie's match is 4th on the Show Court (following Poutchek v Duque Marino) tomorrow - I guess around 2pm BST.

Her courage in tackling such a strong field (Makarova is top 50 and Rezai/Vesnina well inside 100) is to be admired, though I feel she would have been better served in Luxemburg where she would have been seeded to qualify and if successful would have tackled someone strong in the main draw with the confidence of a few wins behind her. Here she will probably have to win back-to-back matches against top 100 players just to qualify - and she has only ever won 1 outside the UK to date.

There have been 2 consecutive long matches so Katie will start at around 3.15

I'm going to take a break after all the excitement in Madrid, Basel and Lyon, but Katie's now up on live scores if anyone wants to follow it.

3rd set - Katie went *4-0 down but then decided to wake up and now has pulled a break back for *4-2.

And Katie loses 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.

Just not happened for her this season, she needs to go back to the drawing board, take some time off, and start again next season.
