RE: Week 42 - Futures F19 (15k+H) - La Roche-sur-Yon, France

Oh Slabba doh

Losing R1s in Challengers is one thing but to do so in Futures is a ranking-destroyer

It wasn't the nicest of draws, but still, losing is a bit of a disppointment and it was the kind of match he really needs to win if he ever to move up the rankings.

That's a great win for Eaton, as it's just so convincing, and his return game must have been working to get that many breaks off serve.

The draw has opened up a bit for him now, so he could be looking at a SF spot here

Well done to Eaton, that's an extremely positive result for him, hopefully he has begun to realise that he does possess good groundstrokes, and the potential to dramatically improve on them, if he choses to utilise them. S&V/chip & charge is good in moderation!

Well done Chris Eaton - a good convincing win by the sound of it, against an opponent with a solid Futures record this year. Next up 26 yr old Nicolas Renavand - WR 422 - who beat Chris 6-3 6-4 in the France F13 R16 last month. Go Chris!

It's very encouraging to see Chris taking some of his ATP Q form into a match he actually scores points for smile.gif (well, 1 point, hopefully more to come!)

Wardy into the QF's by w/o

Faces Rodrigues - who I think lost to Dan Evans recently

But who dumped out Sergei Bubka, the fourth seed, 2 & 1 in the first round! fear.gif

Does Wardy get his QF points regardless or does he only get them if he wins this match too?

If he gets them regardless he's made 4 points already and can double that with a win against Rodrigues.

Eaton served 97% first serves but not one ace according to those stats. I find that hard to believe! :)
