Week 42 - Futures F19 (15k+H) - La Roche-sur-Yon, France

Slabba should have a high seeding here, and he is joined in the MD by Chris Eaton and James Ward.

15yr old Olivier is making his futures debut.

L32: James Ward WR 377 v (WC) Nassim Slilam (FRA) UNR
L32: (3) Alexander Slabinsky WR 274 v Jeremy Blandin (FRA) WR 356
L32: Chris Eaton WR 378 v (5) Jeroen Masson (BEL) WR 304

Slilam was a top 100 junior, seems fairly useful but Ward should beat him. Blandin is quite useful and will be a test for Slabba. Masson is on a four match losing streak since ending Dan Evans' big winning streak in August.

The OoP here http://www.tenniseurope.org/PDF/Professional/mens/2008/Oct-Dec08/LaRoche/op.pdf has Chris Eaton and Alexander Ward playing the French pair Michon & Rufin today, which is an interesting mistake for them to make given that you wouldn't expect the organisers of a French tournament to even know that there were two Wards. It's James of course, Alexander is in Spain!

None of the Brits are playing singles here today.

Once they actually start playing

this draw should get updated fairly regualrly and often gives clickable links to match stats.

Think Slabba and Ward should be winning their first round matches, and hopefully Eaton can show the form of his ATP qualies and take out Masson.

Slabba is probably on court now and Eaton plays a little later

Wardy hit 8 aces in exactly one hours, with pretty good stats on serev and return as you would expect.

Bubka knocked out in his section too. Next opponent not yet unveiled

In Eaton's quarter I see the number 2 seed (Lugassy) has gone

Looks like the draw is opening on for Slabba and Eaton if they can through their opening matches...

Well done Ward on the win as well, even though is was fully expected... looks like he played a good match judging by the stats
