Hmm. Jamie Murray's partners seem to do better playing with other people. Is Jamie maybe not as good as we thought?
I've been thinking that for a while - I think some high-profile partners (e.g. Jelena, Max ... not that Jelena would have regretted it!) were lulled into a false sense of security about how good he was by the general Murray hype. After all, if you need to find out how well he plays on his own, just look at his singles record! (of course, you could equally say well done to him for convincing top players to play with him)
Having said that, he is a pretty good doubles player, I think, and his partnership with Booty looked very equal and well-balanced when I saw them play. I think he would have been better advised to build on that, with both of them getting better in tandem and potentially being able to play together for years, instead of trying to chase early glory with an older partner like Max.
Will he go back to a partnership like that? I hope so, for his sake, but I won't be holding my breath!

Wow, great win for H&H - Huss and a Brit seems to be a good combination, should the LTA try and get him to 'do a Konta' (not that she's managed it yet) so that he can be part of the DC team?

Having watched Jamie a time or two, he seems to be an instinctive player. When it works it looks, and is, spectacular but when it's not functioning he looks less than convincing. Will he be able to overcome this is the question? I, too, would have liked him to have persevered longer with Booty. I'm waiting with interest to see who he teams up with next and who will be the next "chosen one" as a permanent partner.
Jamie is very protective of British Number doubles player No 1 I honestly cannot see him playing with a British player. As said befor by other members on here I think he is playing above his weight! perhaps he might choose Colin Fleming but not a big enough name for him.
As for singles I have wriiten on here before he had the audacity to ask for a Wimbledon wild card with no street cred whatsoever! Saw him in Edinburgh at Futures losing To Ian Flanagan trying to serve volley on clay! I realised then he had no game plan.
