Yes, very rare. Of the 8 ITF listed male players it looks like all but 2 [Rappaccioli & Lopez -and the latter has only played 1 tournament back in 2000] registered simply to play in last years [Oct 2007] Nicaragua F1 tournie. Apparently baseball is the national sport with football only recently beginning to show up on the radar - I imagine that tennis still has some way to go.
Switching to Monday's rankings for the main draw, which makes quite a difference in Timothy's case! ...
L32: Kyle Brassington WR 1291 v Antoine Tassart (FRA) WR 841 L32: (Q) Timothy Bradshaw WR 1354 v John Hoyes (USA) WR 1486
Both Brits are in the second quarter, with the winners of these R1 matches likely to face (4) Victor Romero (MEX) WR 562 and (6) Fabrice Martin (FRA) WR 634 in R2.

Kyle took the 1st set by an impressive margin before fading but Timothy has recorded the first GB main draw win against a ranked player this week! (against WR 1486, but beggars can't be choosers this week LOL)
L32: Kyle Brassington WR 1291 lost to Antoine Tassart (FRA) WR 841 by 2-6 6-0 7-5 L32: (Q) Timothy Bradshaw WR 1354 beat John Hoyes (USA) WR 1486 by 3 & 2
L16: (Q) Timothy Bradshaw WR 1354 v (6) Fabrice Martin (FRA) WR 634 or Andrzej Kapas (POL) WR 1189

I've just realised that with Tim due to play his R2 singles match on Thursday, if Feaver can't get past Semjan in Espinho earlier in the day, it's going to be "Bradshaw or Bust" for the men this week. Not a phrase I ever saw myself using!
