Josh lost 4 & 3 bleh

The worst Challenger disaster by multiple Brits at one event ever?! ashamed (just 3 points to show for it - well done to Jonny for qualifying, but three Brits were higher-ranked than their R1 opponents, one was seeded to reach the semis and another to reach the QFs)

Anyone care who's left in the doubles? dohdohdoh

Tony from the Rusedski board, who I don't think posts here, was in Rennes and saw the matches.

He thinks Slabba and Jonny made the best effort, playing well above their rankings.

He thought Boggo was too predictable and once opponents read his game, they trump it - I've heard it said that Boggo isn't too good at changing tactics during a match, so that ties in with Tony's impression and might explain why matches get away from him after starting out well better than the choking theory.

He thought Bloomers & Goodall overhit serves & shots and made too many ues.

Jonny was his best bet for the future, having lots of variety, including good serve/volley to which these types of opponents are not too accustomed. I agree that his results have been pretty impressive recently.

Certainly did, clap.gif they are on tomorrow's OoP v Aucks and Dick Norman who won 1&4. Delgado & Marray also play tomorrow against the top seeded pair of Allegro & Tecau (SUI/ROU).

Let's hope for something out of this week in Rennes. pray.gif

They only finished laying the courts here 2 or 3 days ago so they are very very slow, which would explain why our guys who were there (all of whom prefer fast courts) underperformed. The only success (Marray qualifying) came on different courts!
