The doubles is probably going to go on well into the night!
anyone know when sam vickers will get a ranking and what it will be? i know shes gained 1 point this week and 2 i think from shrewsbury but i don't know if she has points from a tournament before that? thanks in advance
According to the ITF site, Sam Vickers has only played 2 events (in the last 12 months) so will need to score points at a 3rd event during the next 12 months in order to get a ranking.
Pretty good coverage from the LTA overall with all those news stories, it has to be said, though I do wish they would put up the results immediately (or even do game by game or set by set score updates) with the reports to follow.
It's a bit worrying that both Anne and Elena have been ill, let's hope they'll keep improving now that they've got R1 out of the way and that their matches today won't have taken away all their energy.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
QF: (1, WC) Anne Keothavong WR 82 v Johanna Larrson WR 159 QF: (6) Katie O'Brien WR 138 v Katalin Marosi (HUN) WR 236 QF: Anna Smith WR 371 v (Q) Lina Stanciute (LTU) WR 363
Another great day to increase the feel good feeling in GB womens at the moment. This is the order I would rate the remaining players chances of winning the tournament.
Anne/Vinci Katie Anna/Jo/Brianti/Stanciute Marosi
Stanciute seems to be on a hot streak at the moment reaching the Helsinki 25k final last week and qualifying and beating the 2nd seed here, so will be tough for Anna.
Katie: "I saw the doctor yesterday and got some rest and fresh air today and felt much more alert during my match," (what is it about the air in Barnstaple that has laid low all our top 3 players here!?) "I was mentally very good today and that meant I came through the key points."
Anna: "This is one of the biggest victories of my career," said the 20-year-old of her second round win. "I didn't make many unforced errors today and I was pretty aggressive. She gave me quite a lot of cheap points and I was pretty confident in my game."
