i've been looking back for the past couple of months and i can't find any mention of rob dee in qualifying draws. does anybody know what happened to him since his infamous victory?
From his bio - btw, he could have got that Challenger WC simply because of Bolletieri's influence - just a thought:
... "Almost two years after arriving at Bollettieri I was granted a wild card at a Mexican challenger. It wasnt as hard a match as I would have expected from a main draw challenger but it was my first time on the world stage and I was playing a Mexican on home ground with hundreds of supporters cheering him on. The nerves kicked in pretty quickly!
My only support came from a lone voice up in the stands urging me on and applauding my winning shots. I didnt know who he was at the time but I was really grateful he was there. I later found out that he was Alex Bogdanovic, a British player, ranked in the top 200 and I was grateful that he took time out to support a fellow Brit in his first world ranking match." ...
So Boggo was the first member of the Robert Dee Fan Club

This is the best read I have had in ages...it even has a copy of an email sent to Dee from his old headmaster apologising for anything that he may have said to a reporter...this is brilliant !!!
I know, the email from the headmaster (whom I feel a bit sorry for!) is the best bit of the lot.
Given the fashion for apologising, I wonder if I should 'apologise' for drawing attention to the streak in the first place. LOL I still don't know if the way it leaked out was through me drawing the ITF's attention to it and them mentioning it to the press, or one of his other fans on the facebook site mentioning it, but it has to be some strange route like that.
Not that I think apologising is the right thing to do given that a) I reckon he's only going to gain from the publicity in the end and b) we were never ignorant enough to call him the worst player in the world ... even if we did predict in advance that some sections of the press might well do.

Just read back up the thread and see this. I've taken the link off the third post, since it's easy to find by a google search anyway. What a farce though- what's the use of a website that nobody sees.
Having said that, I did decide not to post the link on MTF, since I guess he'd just get tons of abuse on his comments page in that case, so I suppose I know where he's coming from.
Maybe I should offer him details of the streak, Drew ... or maybe not. I want to see him back in Futures anyway - Derakhshani's won two matches since he got 'Dee'd".
