The top 2 seeds in the QD were not on the entry list. They are both high enough that they could have been DAs. In fact the top seed withdrew before.

But the fifth seed was entered and is higher ranked than both Howe and Fitzy. So there not here.

Burham has only once ((I think) beaten a seeded player. He at least has a chance aginst Lustig who, used to be in the 300's but has dropped back and, has not played since June.

L32: Matthew Illingworth WR 747 lost to (LL) Peter Torebko (GER) WR 1383 by 3 & 4 bleh

Terrible - he gets handed a gift draw with Tabara pulling out and becomes favourite to make the QFs then loses in straights. In fairness, Torebko has only been back playing for three months after nine months out injured and he was ranked in the low 800s last year. He also beat Matt 4 & 2 back in 2006.

L32: Burnham Arlidge WR 996 v (7) Daniel Lustig (CZE) WR 716 - Wednesday

Burnham adds to the evidence that he's a proper top 1000 player now ... I've had to check this scoreline three times before I really believed it! smile.gif

L32: Burnham Arlidge WR 996 beat (7) Daniel Lustig (CZE) WR 716 by 2 & 3 biggrin

L16: Burnham Arlidge WR 996 v (Q) Tobias Klein (GER) WR 1320

Klein won because his opponent retired today, but he moved up over 400 places on Monday after reaching the QFs in Nuernberg a couple of weeks ago.

Klein seems to prefer the clay so an excellent chance for Arlidge to make only his 2nd quarter final. That said, only two years ago Klein was inside the top 600 so you can never tell.
