L32: (Q) Kyle Brassington WR 1284 v (WC) Luis Diaz-Barriga (MEX) UNR

Now 22, Diaz-Barriga has been playing Futures since he was 17. In 2003, he played two events in Mexico, his first win coming against our old friend Diego Beltranena. He then played one Mexican Future per year between 2004 and 2006, actually qualifying in 2006 by beating the top qualifying seed (ranked about 900 at the time) but not taking up his place in the main draw for some reason. He then missed 2007, qualified for last week's Mexican Future but drew top seed Felder in R1, losing to him 5 & 2, which was better than anyone else did against him until the Final. Tim Bradshaw lost to Felder 1 & 1 in the QFs of course.
