Elgin is ranked 147 and STAKHOVSKY is WR83 so both real tough matches.

If Chris wins then he is a shoe in for the DC tie !!!!

Just for the record, Jamie Murray has popped up in the doubles here, playing with Feliciano López (ESP). Only trouble is, they've been drawn to play the top seeds, the Polish pair, Mariusz Fyrstenberg & Marcin Matkowski, in the first round!

If they're still alive to tell the tale in R2, it'll be a minor miracle!

Richard having problems on return of serve but having been broken in 2nd service game hung in and serving to stay in set at 3 5 comes up with 3 aces for 4-5.
Elgin serves for set and takes to 30. so Bloomers trails 4-6 *0-0
