Reason why Goodall and Bloomers aren't in Mons......they're going for the ATP in Metz along with Chris Eaton !


QR1: 

J Goodall WR 204 v  D Guez (Fra) WR 197

C Eaton WR 378 v   F Nielsen (Den) WR 245

R Bloomfield WR 298 v  (WC) A Feret (Fra) UNR


Well all first round matches are very winnable. 

Josh could have decent shot at final qualies round as he would probably play 7th seed Mannarino  (wr: 183)  in rd2  but then top seed Serra (wr: 57) would likely await in FQR

If Chris wins he'll probably play 3rd seed Stakhovsky (wr: 83),  which might have more hope as Stak is a bit up and down and  can get very down on himself

Bloomers has the best chance of all as the seeds in his quarter are both ranked 140ish

eaton saved 5 BPs in his first service game but held easy hold from nielsen to love then eaton held to 15. 2-1 nielsen to serve

Of course, if Chris wins here, he will face the winner of a match between Stakhovsky and Bubka (could he ask for a better chance to stake a claim for a place in the DC team to play Ukraine next year?) but of course Nielsen, whom he is playing at the moment, has a record 23-match winning streak against Brits since Colin Fleming beat him in July 2006! Now 4-4 1st set.
