I thought after the last time they tried holding it at Braehead, the conclusion was "never again" - they must be desperate!
Of course, if their "try to force Andy to play by holding it in Scotland" gamble doesn't pay off, the atmosphere might be even worse - at least there were a few Greg fans there last time to make a bit of noice.

So delighted, on a selfishly personal level, of course, that the tie is coming north of the border - again, selfishly, I just hope the hospital can figure out whatever it is I've been ailing with since July, so I can actually go!
Very odd decision - the reports of the atmosphere, or lack of it, on Court 1 were widespread after the AUT tie yet they choose to ignore the natural location in order to rectify that [Birm], instead opting for a location that has not been a huge hit in the past
Several of you guys have hinted at it but this decision must surely have been made to guilt Andy into playing DC - he would feel like he was letting down his fellow scots etc
I reckon there are halls (big enough for a Euro-Africa Group 1 match) free at the NEC that weekend, but the LTA just couldn't face the idea of gifting a "GB tennis goes to the dogs" headline to the journos.

Yeah just saw it being confirmed on the beeb. Oh well so no nice hotel for 2-3 nights down south. I will have spend the next 3 months convincing the wife I need to stay in Glasgow for 'work' reasons !!!
The LTA seem to be learning from their recent mistakes....like not really pushing for local kids to get free entry to DC.
The other citicism is the previous DC tie in Glasgow had next to no atmosphere.
Well by fixing the first they may have also sorted the second.....let 1000 screaming Glaswegian 'weans' in for free each day...mmm I think it might be better watching from home LOL !!!
Always going to be Scotland given the lack of other venues, which hopefully will entice Andy to play this.
As long as they fix the atmosphere, which was a big problem last time, it should be a good tie, although personally not overly happy about it being so far north which will make it a long treck to get to.
Well I am happy just booked tickets for the three days, now for the team Andy,Jamie B if fit, Jamie M and Colin in doubles -------back up Graham Dyce and David Brewer. Common thread here I think perhaps Elena Baltacha could have a sex change lol as well to come into the team.
Seriously I hope that there is a good atmosphere and that we win. Problems for LLoyd who plays second singles and the doubles pairing. I think Andy and Ross Hutchins myself.
