(2)Georgie Stoop (GBR) d. Lauren Herring (USA) 6-0 6-3
Gail Brodsky (USA) d. Sarah Foster (USA) 7-5 6-0
Tiya Rolle (USA) v Samantha Powers (USA) 7-5 6-0
Mirjana Lucic (CRO) d. (5)Maria-Fernanda Alves (BRA) 6-4 7-5

Sadly Nicola retired with a serious injury in the second set tie-break leading 7-5 6-6 , which she describes on GBTG

Gail Brodsky is a junior rated highly enough to be given a WC for the US Open main draw

Georgie is down to play Lucic on Tuesday so I assume she beat Brodsky.

Georgie won 6-2 7-5. Her match against Lucic is on at 3pm BST, with some updates likely to be relayed on TennisForum.com , as with most of Mirjana's matches.

For the second week running Georgie has the opportunity to repeat one of her biggest wins of the summer. Georgie won 7-5 1-6 6-3 in Lexington, so let's hope for another repeat, like last week against Puchkova.

Excellent stuff. Some real consistancy from Georgie which is great to see. If she can carry on this form she should soon be in the top 200.

Unfortunately it looks as if Lepchenko won. She is listed on the schedule for tomorrow, a result confirmed by tennisforum.
