Hutch gets back to winning ways! thumbsup.gif He & Stephen Huss have just beaten GGL & Ivan Navarro 6-3 7-6(6).  smile  Their opponents in the QFs are the fourth seeds, James Cerretani & Jean-Claude Scherrer (USA/SUI).  Ain't gonna be easy, but ... pray.gif

Some info on developments in the bottom half of the draw:  the second seeds, Travis Parrott & Filip Polasek (USA/POL), have bitten the dust, beaten 6-7(2) 4-6 by Booty & Sam Querrey! clap.gif

Even better news from the top half of the draw:  the Brazilian top seeds, Marcelo Melo & Bruno Soares, who should have lain in wait for the winners of the Hutch & Huss/Cerretani & Scherrer encounter, have been seen off in two sets (7-6(4) 6-3) by Michael Kohlmann & Rainer Schüttler! smile

Strange singles results in Beijing -

Sela d. Robredo
Phau d. Gonzalez
Schuettler d. Gasquet

however Roddick d. Ferrero - must be pinching himself - should win.

If Ross could make the final then he could see his ranking rise this week...40 pts come off on Monday from last years Mumbai QF and he has 75 in the bag this week already.

SF win could see him get near to his CH and the title could see him upto the mid 60's.

He has 80 pts to defend (2xCH SF) until the end of the year from what i can tell so he will perhaps need to do well here and also in the next few weeks.

Er, Dudi Sela beat Tommy Robredo (6) (4 & 1) to reach the SFs?  Given that he also beat the top seed, David Ferrer, in straight sets (3 & 3) in the previous round (R2), I'd say he was on a bit of a roll...! wink

But where did that come from...Dudi Dela 23 yr old never been in the top 50...never done much (relatively) couple Ch wins...future wins...but all of a sudden he is beating Ferrer, Robredo...mmm a late bloomer ?
