Woke up late at 9.04am this morning to the blazing sunshine streaming in my B&B window and I knew that unless I buy a cap today the red patch between my ears is going to be crimson by end of play today.
I eventually passed out at 1am so wasnt to bothered about sleeping in a little. My B&B is a 30min walk to SW19 so after downing my very Military style breakfast off I sent opting not to put on my shorts today. After 10 mins I was wishing I had taken the shorts option.
Reached Wimbledon at 10.30am absolutely cream-crackered. Spent 10 minutes in the toilets cooling down and applying so deodorant hastily bought en-route.
Sat down at my media desk full of optimism for the day okay I was still slightly damp but no-one really noticed !
I am sitting at the Financial Times media desk. How the heck do they get a media desk for Wimbledon. I dont think they even have a sports section ? I did sit down at one of the Daily Mirror desks but every bone in my body started to ache and I almost passed out with the stench of mediocrity.
The doubles pairings will be announced around 12 to the press and I will let you all know as soon as I do. Going to the court to watch the guys warm up. Later friends !
