RE: Week 39 - Futures F36 (10k) - Spain, Martos

Good week so far so James, and he's going deep in these events now, which will start to add to his ranking soon hopefully.

Prpic is beatable, and would be a massive win for him if he could pull it off and reach the final here

The actual drawsheet on TE says 15K, so I think it's a typo on their index page. I'll change the title of this thread.

We do not have anyone in Spain today do we ???

I have emailed the event and asked if they could email us the result of Wards match.

Doubles Result...

COX (GBR) / EVANS (GBR) lost to CAPKOVIC (SVK) / SITAK (RUS) 2 - 6-4 2-5 Retired

So looks like they were comfortable taking the first set then early perhaps in the second set the injury occured ? Still a good run.

Probably the semis, but even so, that would be a stunning result!

.. or maybe if the win was that big, it was the Final after a narrow win over Prpic, that might make more sense.

Anyway, it's got to be good news, I guess we'll find out later how good!

Whichever it was, it'll mean a new career high for James - providing this really is a 15K, that is! Even though he has 4 points to drop tomorrow and another 4 next week, he'll move to roughly 380th with a semi-final win, 360th with a win in the final!

I have read my email from Spain again and my specific question was who won between Ward and Prpic and the answer was, in Spanish....

HA GANADO JAMES WARD 6/0 6/3

Which means James Ward has won 6-0 6-3.

So Im sure that means he beat Prpic and made the final. Awaiting a response to another email I have sent.

Still a better week from James !

It seems hardly credible that he beat Prpic 0 & 3 then lost to Bautista ... perhaps playing more than three sets in a day was beyond them.

As you say though, a very good week from James. smile.gif

P.S. I wonder if they'll ever bother to post these results anywhere!

oh ok, I tried tenispain and ATP just before you posted, hadn't tried ITF for half an hour. ITF does seem to get the results first these days (which is a bit of a pain because it's the only site without OoPs, so if you get results from ITF, you still have to wait for OoPs from somewhere else - not a problem if it's the last match of the week, obviously!), while tenniseurope, which used to be very good for European Futures results, seems to hardly ever update until the following morning these days.
