Those are useful points in terms of rankings that the lads won yesterday. The one Josh won, plus last week's singleton, will place him in the 800s for the first time when these Futures points appear on October 6, c.880. Colin and David will be in the top 1000, at roughly 950 and 975, respectively; for David, that'll be a debut in three figures, while Colin heads back toward the top 500, which is where he was before 'retiring' to university.
Unfortunately, it didn't quite work out for Thornley in the doubles, though. He & Rice lost 7-5 5-7 [6-10] to the Germans, Bloemke & Kleftakos (fine old German name, that! ): close, but not close enough! On the other hand, Scottish Colin & Irish Colin had an easy win over the Belgian pair, Gigounon & Goffin. Sean is due to face Goffin in R2 of the singles...

They managed to keep the momentum going today, too, seeing off the Romanian third seeds, Carpen & Cojanu, 7-6(5) 6-4 to reach the SFs ( ), where they will take on the top seeds (& only seeds still left in the competition!), Danilovic & Paukku (MNE/FIN). Keep up the good work tomorrow, boys!
