Thanks. And kudos to the Count for mostly getting answers which were marginally longer than his questions.

I'm still a bit concerned that Alex may get cheated out of his chance of a groundbreaking live rubber win by the 5th rubber being a dead one, but then again if it was dead for the right reason, we probably won't be too unhappy, and it will save a lot of fingernails, premature deaths, etc!

Anyway, I guess he'll just have to beat Smelly to make sure then. I hardly dare to hope, but we all know that if he catches Melzer cold, then he's capable of playing well enough to beat him. Much easier said than done though.

I'd better get to bed soon so I can be ready to cheer on the Bogster tomorrow.

"He's coming home, he's coming home, he's coming ..."

Well done on getting the interview but the nature of Alex's responses is as lame as you can get.  In a week where a 5 year £25m deal has been welcomed and agreed by all media as a good thing because, British tennis needs all the help it can get to bring more kids into the game, the above interview is all I have read from the British number two as he is about to play in a competition which he could potentially have a heroic role at his feet.  You would have thought that we'd have heard more from him bearing in mind the broadsheets have given build up coverage everyday this week.  It may not be his strong point, and thats cool, but surely the LTA could help out here with media training and the like.  If they have done so, it dosen't appear to have worked.

A I say, well done all concerned on getting the interview but, speaking as someone who has scoured the papers online this week looking for such interviews with Alex, I find it a bit sad.  I'll be there on Sunday and if at 2-all, it really could be the absoloute highlight of his career.  I can only hope if it is the media coverage afterwards reflects it so.

Can't wait for Alex's autobiography to come out.

Can you imagine the stress of being his ghostwriter?

Alex does make me smile. I don't worry about his insular nature at all-he's a tennis player after all, not a celeb.

I had a dream last night, that Alex won his match against Melzer.

I have no idea whether or not it was a prophetic dream - we will see!

Sadly not but we all saw exactly what Boggo has to offer - fantastic from him in set 1 and most of set 2. Such a ppity he couldn't take that second set but if he can play that well in the 5th rubber, we stand a chance.

Obviously my dream went no further than the first set cry
