I'll be down there as soon as possible, I'll hopefully get there in time for the doubles and definately for Laura's match.
Some shrewd marketing is what this kind of event needs, so well done to them! Obviously they must be rubbing their hands with glee at Laura having got this far!

Wouldn't it be nice if the glorious BBC could get their cameras down there to witness what could be a historic moment in British tennis. Has any one younger ever won an event on these shores..and British to boot ?
Having levelled Radwanska with such aplomb, who's to say she won't?
It would certainly put Shrewsbury on the map for something other than the peculiarly-named football ground and the person in the coracle retrieving errant footballs from the River Severn. ( waits for people with a knowledge of Salopian history to flame him )
Hey, they were actually selling the tickets at £3 for all yesterday to try and get everyone interested, which was good for me! And now that Shrewsbury has moved from the Gay Meadow to the all new ProStar Stadium, away from the River Severn, we are longing for something new to associate with ourselves! (I was the person from Salop who you were waiting to reply Gary :) ) Darwin anyone?
Not much going on at Shrewsbury today, but a 'texter war' has broken out to keep us amused.
Wolf told me that due to the complete unreliability of someone he may have been texting yesterday (name withheld to protect the guilty, but the clue's in the word "unreliability" ) he wanted to text someone else instead, so I said fine and gave him my number.
Vamos is there as well though, and he texted me those first two results only for Wolf to text me one of them a few minutes later as well. (I know, I know, I should have seen this coming)
So, I texted Wolf to see if he'd mind me sending his number to Vamos so that they could meet up and say hi and perhaps agree to split the texting load as well.
Reply: "I've texted him by the b*st*rd is not responding"
This could get ugly!
Anyway, enough silliness, the Wolf has got in first this time with:
(1) Borwell/Nagle lead (3) Boffa/Frankova 6-4 (2) Smith/Larsson lead Marosi/Tavares 6-3 3-3
Vamos to serve, 1 game all, 1st set ...

I rang the tournament and asked for Larsson/Smith doubles score, the lady responded 'You do know we dont do livescores dont you, ill check one last time for you"
That must be why they put the Shed through to one of the local shops last year.
