Well done to all those who got a win yesterday, and great to see Cavaday and Pauffley get their first ranking points.

Looks like we're pretty much guarenteed a finalist here from the top half, which should be Goodall, but probably won't be getting a lot from the bottom half.

I'd expect Goodall, Evans and Thornley to win today, and I think Skupski should beat Milton as well, but that could go either way.

Interestingly, Pokrajac beat his doubles partner in a ding-dong battle in the singles (7-6(4) 6-7(2) 7-6(6)) & will face Filip Prpic, who beat Neil Pauffley 1&2, in the QFs.  In the top half, Goody beat Sabate Bretos 7-5 4-6 6-3 & so plays Skups in the QFs, while Nick Cavaday accounted for Sean Thornley 6-4 0-6 ( hmm ) 6-3 & so plays Dan Evans!

R2 ROUND-UP & QF DRAW

L16: (1) Josh Goodall WR 199 beat (PR) Adil Shamasdin (CAN) WR 1034 by 7-5 4-6 6-3 smile
L16: (7) Ken Skupski WR 556 beat Josh Milton WR 942 by 1 & 3 smilecry
L16: (WC) Nick Cavaday UNR beat Sean Thornley WR 830 by 6-4 0-6 6-3 biggrinbleh
L16: (8) Dan Evans WR 592 beat (Q) Ben Pritchard WR 1728 by 2 & 3 smilecry
L16: Burnham Arlidge WR 1017 lost to (5) Stephane Robert (FRA) WR 525 by 3 & 0 cry
L16: (WC) Colin Fleming UNR beat (4) Sebastian Rieschick (GER) WR 431 by 5 & 1 biggrin
L16: (Q) Neil Pauffley UNR lost to (2) Filip Prpic (SWE) WR 345 by 1 & 2 cry

QF: (1) Josh Goodall WR 199 v (7) Ken Skupski WR 556
QF: (8) Dan Evans WR 592 v (WC) Nick Cavaday UNR
QF: (WC) Colin Fleming UNR v (5) Stephane Robert (FRA) WR 525

Nick seems to be another of those players who has recently got a ranking point and decided he likes it so much, he'll go and get a few more as quickly as possible. smile.gif

We now have a guaranteed finalist in the top half of course smile but the most encouraging thing about this week so far, I think, is Colin Fleming getting back to his old self again. After a shaky July/August (W 3 L 3 in qualifying, lost his only main draw match), he won 6 matches last week and having upset Rieschik 11-9 in the 3rd set t/b last week, he's gone and blown him away this time around. biggrin

PS. As things stand (which I think menas unless Nick reaches the Final this week), Colin will be back in the top 1000 and on the GB Top 25 table on Monday week.

Great to see Colin successfully returning to the game

Steven - you might need to start increasing the Top 25 table soon wink.gif (must be a while since we had 25 "Active" players with three figure rankings)
