Tim Henman

Anyone feel really strange when looking at the new rankings?  It was so strange to not see Tim's name, ranking etc.  I know he has not played for the last year, but every time the rankings have been updated I have looked to see where he is....wow....

Thanks for the memories Tim, now hopefully Andy can get a little higher than your career best!

I know what you mean - Tim had been on the rankings for a month under 16 years, since winning two matches in a Satellite series in Morocco in September 1992!

Oddly, he lost his first two R1 matches (a GB Sat & Wimby Q) to the same player, Colin Beecher, then lost his first two R2 matches, in that Moroccan Satellite series to the same player too, Patrik Langvardt ... take that on a few more years and he loses his first two Wimby semis to the same person, Pete Sampras.

I wonder if he ever expected to leave the rankings at the same time as Ross Connoly, Richard Irwin and Alexander Waske!

Wow Steven....that is really strange....Colin Beecher is also British right?  I wonder what ever happened to Patrik Langvardt, but I am sure everytime Tim made a Slam semi he was able to tell his wife (maybe kids) you know I beat that guy twice in a row back in 1992......

Yes, Colin Beecher was British, and yes, I'm sure you're right!

It's a bit like David Sherwood being able to say he's the only Brit with a 100% record against Muzza having played him more than once, when Andy was 15 and 17.

Thomas Greenland and Mark Hilton (if I remember right) are the other two with 100% records against Andy, beating him either side of his first Futures title in Glasgow when he was 16.
