RE: Week 37 - Challenger (125k) - Orleans, France

Jenkins finally gets a game on the board in the 8th game, looks like Boggo is serving first.

Long break at 3-1 15-15 suggesting an injury and now it is 4-1.

By my reckoning (although without ATP rankings it's tough) Alex started the week up 4 at 168. This win takes him up another 2 places above Bjorkman and Patience (neither of whom are playing this week) to 166.

yeah you might be right, the singles draw on the site has alex winning by W/O. but the score board played the points up till the end.

still its a good start to the indoor season, although i am fearfull that alex has started events like this often then so often goes out 2nd rd!

thats pretty good then. hopefully he can get back in the top 150 b4 long, and at least with thsi DC he will only miss 1 week.

now we need josh to make it 2 out of 2 today and perhaps andy to finish it off for 3 out of 3. still at least the important match has been won wink.gif

I have the same figure. The only thing I am not sure of, is that I have not checked the Challenger finalists who were ranked below 180 last rankings - it's possible I suppose that one or two of them have jumped up.

Annoying not having updated rankings today! For heaven's sake, the only match outstanding is the USO final, they could have brought out the rankings with Andy and Fed on finalists' points and then amended them after tonight. It's not as though they never make mistakes and have to make later corrections.

benny and the stop dont play today. So thats means Alex should have a day off tomorrow.
of cousre their is the doubles but al has a tough match later so i dont expect too much there.

i wonder if Lloydy is there. i know paul hutchins and Annacone are in the states but dont about lloydy, i expect he is tho, free holidays and all and i guess 3/4's of the DC team have been/still are over there

and with a boggo 60,61 score i am sure lloyd wasnt there!!

LOL, excellent performance from the Bogster though smile.gif and a great way to start the biggest day in GB tennis for over a decade ... rather more than a decade if tonight's result goes the right way!

to back up the point i raised above about boggo fast starting then going out:

Atpos Ch 08
Round of 16 Lost to Andrea Stoppini(307) (ITA) 6-3 6-7(5) 6-3
Round of 32 Def. Amir Weintraub(323) (ISR) 6-1 6-0

And:
Orleans Ch (FRA) 06
Round of 16 Lost to Andrea Stoppini(248) (ITA) 6-3 6-4
Round of 32 Def. Peter Wessels(259) (NED) 6-3 6-0

i hope Benne wins looking at that, esp the 06 result!

alsi i forgot alex had beaten jenkins earlier this year at sunrise qualies 62 61
