I wonder whether the hit and miss baseline tennis which Chris played at Wimbledon is still the case in these futures. If that's the case then he needs to re-think tactics with a coach as to make top 300 and higher he really needs more than just a serve and good volleys
from what i've seen in various futures he has the makings of a decent baseline game with in particular a good single-handed backhand which with work could become a great shot
Exactly right Sheddy. When I saw Chris play at the Manchester challenger he was totally found out by Bloomers who simply went for his returns, hoping to string a few together to get the break - which he eventually did. Watching Chris play one naturally assumes that he is little/no baseline game however on the rare occasion he didn't rush the net he showed glimpses of power and depth from both wings [although a little inconsistent - likely due to the fact that he really uses his FH/BH groundstrokes..] but, frustratingly, didn't utilize it very often. Thus it seems that his issues seem to be more related to tactics rather than ability..
