Tomorrow on Ashe, not before 2pm - 7pm here, ideal.
This match worries me more than the others have, but I do think Andy will take it if he keeps his head and doesn't let Potty get him annoyed. Focus, Andy!
H2H 1-0 to Andy - the famous match in Rome where things got heated, and Andy won when DelPo retired, but the score was even (I think) when that happened. I believe Andy beat him a couple of times in Juniors - I'm sure somebody more knowledgeable will tell us if I'm wrong.
Andy talking to Overand on R5 said that he and JMDP have not spoken since last year when JMDP is suppose to have insulted Judy Murray on court and Andy went nuts....Andy then came back over powering JMDP in the second set to see him retire 1-0 down in the 3rd.
He was asked his opinion of JMDP's winning streak...Andy said it was good even though JMDP had decided not to play the Master Series but opt for the lesser events....still think Andys pissed at him.
They don't like each other, which will add some extra spice to the match, but Murray should still win this, and being in the day session may help him, given he is the fitter player under the heat.
Perfect time for us to be able to watch the match as well, which was nice of them to schedule it then.
And Murray has played Del Potro at the US Open in the Juniors (think it was the year he won the title, but not sure), and beat him 1 and 0.... how we'd like a similar result tomorrow!
I am not remotely worried about Andy losing his rag in this match. He has been extremely focused so far in this tournament and I expect that to continue.
His temprement may still be suspect in lesser matchers but on the big occasion his determination seems to over power his frustration. You only have to look at the Melzer match were there were multiple occasions were he could have blown his top. When he failed to serve out the third set he was clearly beside himself with rage but he quickly composed himself and got on with the task.
Playing golf until 8pm so dont win too quickly Andy....let me get home to watch !
You could be in luck, Drew. The first match is still playing, though at *5-4 in the third set it may finish soon. With a ladies singles to follow, Andy may well only start around 8pm, never mind finish before then!
The only livestream I can get to work is CCTV5, with Chinese commentary: which would not be so bad if they would only stop talking for a few seconds! I can't hear the umpire or line calls for them so I have had to switch the sound off!
