He was very unlucky as Palmanshofer got a main draw seeding and didn't enter the draw originally.

That's quite an impressive result! It must be so annoying when you get drawn against someone ranked that high who is only playing qualifying because they forgot to enter in the first place.

It's a good effort from him, and he now as he could well be scoring a point sooner or later.

I suspect Palmanshofer didn't forget to enter, but either saw that the entry list here was weak and then decided to play qualifying, or always intended to play qualifying just to have an easy match to get used to the courts, as in these far away lands it can take a while to adjust

You're probably right, but it must still be frustrating for the unlucky sods who have to play him in qualifying!

Yes, he's still 17; in fact, were he just 25 days younger, Faris would be a Junior next year, too.
