Take a look at the decline in Max's singles ranking. He's gone from top 50 in May 2007 to 380 now (he still plays plenty of events but loses in ATP qualies). Of course doubles players seem to reach the top much later and stay around into their mid 30s but I suspect Jamie joined Max at just the wrong time.
A bit more thought needs to go into selecting the next partner.
Agree with others that Jamie and Max should split. They have done nothing really together. It's been a disappointing year in some ways for Jamie. Wish he and Booty were still a partnership. Maybe he could partner Ross. He needs someone new whoever it is.
Makes me wonder if Björkman knew something the rest of us didn't. I think this partnership has had long enough now to iron out any problems. It ain't working, so fix it or dump it.
Just a thought, with Bjorkman retiring, would partnering Kevin Ullyett be an option for Jamie? They reached the Estoril final together earlier in the year.
Moving away from the Jamie & Max saga for just a second or two, Andy & Hutch are involved in the third match on Court 6, after another men's doubles & a women'd doubles, & they will, of course, be playing the top seeds, Nestor & Zimonjic!
Returning to the Jamie & Max saga ( ), I think wolf's suggestion is a good one - if, that is, Ullyett hasn't already got a successor to Björkman already lined up!
Haven't seen it mentioned, but Andy and Ross are playing this evening, BST. They are third on C6. Show 'em how it's done boys! Yes, I know, it's Nestor and Zimonjic!
Whoops-a-daisy! Is Björkman retiring from all tennis or just singles?
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
But broke to go 3-1 up in the 2nd and they now lead 5-2....would be great if they can take the Wimbledon champions to a 3rd set
From what I've seen Ross doesn't have the talent or the flashy skills of a Jamie Murray but he's an incredibly hard worker with a great serve and solid volleys. If he improves his returning he will definately make top 50.....it was a shame in a way he didn't continue on to ATPs with Josh Goodall as they had a great partnership going.
Hopefully if Josh gets closer to top 100 singles then they can re-start that

as ijust discovered in the dc thread it appears josh has had a amjor falling out with the murrays (and probably ross) over queens dubs wc's. perhaps that is why they dont play?
