Well done to her for winning, as I had my doubts that she would do so.

Schiavone is beatable, but I'd still be surprised if she did beat her, but she has a chance if she plays as well as she can.

I'd be amazed if it was on a TV Court though, as I can't imagine this match will be of any interest to the US public though.

Well done Anne. Nice winnable match that could have gone horribly wrong and Anne would be devastated then. Good win and valuable points to keep her in the top 100. Agree that if she plays well she could get a 2nd round win.

Does anyone know if her points at this stage will be enough to keep her up there for the start of 09 and a DA into Aussie open? How much does she need to do?

Position 100 is currently 345 ranking points

Anne currently has 402.

This win, when her Q3 performance from last year is taken into account, will add 35 points.

Her only serious defence is 65 points from Kolkata Tier III SF

Leaves her net 370+whatever she gets later.

So she should be just about in the mix. But the US Open, with its big 60 points, does create a little turbulence in the rankings...

Well they put Seppi vs Lee on a show court today which is a snoozefest so you never know....

Don't think it is....

I think the TV courts are the 3 show courts, court 11, court 13 and I think court 10 (although I'm not really sure on that one)
