Good win for Thornley, winning 0 and 1, and hopefully he can carry that form on another round on 2.

Yes. cry.gif He would have been much higher ranked now if he didn't have to retire.

I don't know how long Sean plans to stay in Ecuador, but it would be good to see do qualies at Quito - which is in week 37. Although it's on clay, he may be seeded to qualify as the initial cut is 473, and they'll pay for his room if he's in the main draw.

Scratch that. The Futures in Ecuador in week 36 has been cancelled, so he can't possibly stay in South America unless he does qualies in some Futures.

Sean won by 6-3 7-6(0). clap.gif

Plays Patricio Alvarado [954] for a place in the semifinals. Alvarado used be Junior no. 23 (horribly inflated) last year but is quite beatable

Well done Sean, and hope he can keep this good run going, as that's a winnable QF match for him.

He must have some links to Ecuador for him to keep playing here, but if he keeps winning, then it's great news.

According to the draw sheet on the ATP site, the score was 6-0 1-0 to Sean! wink

I wonder what happened to that poster we had called Thornley4top100, or something like that.

Another good win for Thornley, and he's making the most of this trip to Ecaudor.

Don't think he'll win the semi final, but he does have the ability to be top 500 (as a bare minimum), so it's not outrageous that he could possibly beat d'Agord
