Mel just served for the match at *5-3, but was broken

Then Dubois was leading *4-3 got broken so it's 4-4 in the final set. From what I can recall, Zhang (this is 2 years ago) just gets the ball back. And I suspect that's what Dubois does too, so this could go on for a bit.
Either way, Mel is going to have to hit through them. And serve a lot better than she managed today.
Shuai Zhang 5-4* 0-40 breaks to love to finish the match.
Not a bad opponent to get for the final round of qualifying. Still think Mel will have to go up a gear if she's to get through. They met a couple of times back in 2006 in China, with Shuai Zhang winning 7-6(4) 6-0 and Mel winning 7-6(0) 6-4 the following week. And Shuai Zhang won in straight sets in 2007 again in China.
She has also beaten both Anne and Elena in Slam qualifying this year.
I think both Mel and Bally have a great chance of qualifying here, and it's a match that they really should win if they are ever going to make an impact on the women's game.
Can't really ask for better final round qualifying matches than what they have, so I'm looking for 2 qualifiers here
I think Mel will need to get more of her 1st serves in to get through tonight's match. The statistics in her match against Fedossova shows why she was struggling to close the match.
Match #1: Simon Stadler (GER) vs. Robert Kendrick (USA) Match #2: Brian Dabul (ARG) vs. Tomas Zib (CZE) Match #3: Hana Sromova (CZE) vs. Julia Schruff (GER) Match #4:Elena Baltacha (GBR) vs. Julie Coin (FRA)

Personally I would happily settle for 1 qualifier, even though both matches give opportunities. We had a similar situation last year, and both (Anne and Naomi) lost. Shuai Zhang has already beaten 2 Brits in Grand Slam qualifiers this year (Anne and Bally - both easily) and Bally's health problems means she sometimes struggles to recover quickly - and she has had 2 long matches. On the plus side Bally's wins and losses do tend to come in bunches.
