5 points for qualifying. Nothing for anything less.

I hope they can turn it on this week because they'll need to looking at the draw!

We must remember this is Jamie's no1 surface and that he can win these matches.

Go Brits! clap.gifclap.gif

Typical that Jamie and Somdev are in the same section...

Somdev didn't get a wild card but Ignatik got one! confused.gif But maybe Roddick got it for him as he trains at his brother's academy.

I think that Ken wanted to play here but didn't get in. Should have stayed in NY. cry.gif

Probably. I meant that he should have tried Bronx qualies.

I'd be surprised if either of them qualified, but good look to them and they probably should win their opening match at least.

That said, Bloomers is *4-3 down in the first set at the moment, so he may needs to go 3 sets to win

well lets hope he only needs 2 as he takes the TB in the 1st set :)

Great comeback for Bloomers to take the set!

And he breaks at the start of the second set!!!

It's looking good for him now to reach round 2, where it could be Golubev who won the first set 7-5

He might well have tried and not made the cut for Bronx qualies.

And Bloomers break again to win the match, winning 7-6(2), 6-3 and going into round 2.

Golubev leads 7-6, *4-3, so it's likely to be him

Most impressive was Richard's hold of 4 out of 5 break points while Lindahl held 0 out of 2.

So yes later today (after 6.30 BST) it's Andrey Golubev (RUS) WR 163.

Head to head Golubev leads 1-0 with a 3-6 7-6(6) 6-4 win in Feb 2006.
