i went into my local ladbrookes today and aksed for odds on somdev to win US open,they obv hadnt heard of him but said they have a specialist slip on it for me by end of week
im hoping for 1000-1

your thoughts guys.

Golubev serving at 4-5 first set. He hasn't lost a point on first serve but has only got 9 in so far.

Think it would be a waste of money biggrin

I can't see him winning the event, and reaching the 3rd round would be a big achievement for him on a fast hard court, and he'll need a WC to even get into the qualifying draw (and that's not guarenteed)

Anything other than Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray (and maybe Roddick, Davydenko, and Nalbandian) to win the title is a crazy bet though.

Bloomers double faults the break away!!!!!!

Last 3 games I've seen him serve, he's gone from 40-0 to deuce, 40-0 to deuce, and now broken from 30-0...

Golubev to serve at 6-5 for the set... hope he chokes

Ugh, just one bp in the whole set, and it was on a virtual set point. He seemed to be fighting well there right to the end.

Bloomers lost 7-5, 6-4...

Those double faults on break points were very costly in the end, as otherwise it was an even match.

Yes, but Richard hardly got a look-in on Golubev's serve, winning just 2/30 points when the Kazakh got his 1st serve in, 40% when he didn't.
