According to tennisinsight.com the win against Wickmayer at the AO was the best result of her career until her win over Pirinkova the other week. (for what it's worth)

I'm fairly hopeful because she has been playing pretty well lately in her Katie sort of way.

According to Mel's website Mel and Monique won their quarter-final against Barrois/Duque-Marino sometime after 1am (no score given - and the ITF site remains resolutely silent in keeping with the tradition of Mexican challengers). Mel therefore regains the number 1 spot from Sarah.
