eaton v goodall what we thinking, im saying eaton will walk it the way their games match up.
It does depend on how fast the courts are... the faster they are, they more it favours Eaton.
I still think Goodall will win though, as he's simply a better player than Eaton is at the moment... Goodall's serve is good enough for him to be able to hold most of the time against Eaton, and his groundstrokes are better so will create more chances to break against him.
I'd expect Goodall and Slabba to both win tomorrow and set up a QF, which could go either way.
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
Looks like Josh Goodall and Alex Slabinsky are through to the next round. But of course that means Chris Eaton is out. Shame two brits had to play each other so early on.
The seeds are having a bad time in this tournament. There are now only four left, as one more, Amritraj (2), went today, 6-7(4) 6-7(3) to the Japanese, Motomura, so he plays Cakl, who saw off the fifth seed, Ti Chen 4 & 2 in the first round! Is it something in the air? Watch out, Goody or Slabba, in the SF!
Great news from the doubles: Goody & Ward saw off the second seeds, Savic & Valtzer (SRB/ISR), 7-6 (7) 6-4! Typical Brit luck, though: they play the only surviving seeded pair (defininitely something on the air! ), the Indian fourth seeds, Gajjar & Raja, in the SFs. Cakl (having a good tournament, he is!) & Kindlmann square up to the Japanese pair, Iwami & Kondo, in the other half of the draw.
I'm not sure if it's good luck or bad luck that Alex and Josh have to play each other in the QFs. While it means one of them will definately fail to reach the next round, it also means one of them is guaranteed to reach the SFs. If they weren't playing each other, maybe they both would have got through, or both have lost. Swings and roundabouts.
Draw now has Ysern having beaten Slabba, so guess that must be the result...
Disappointing loss for Slabba, as he always seems able to win 1 round but doesn't get any further, and he's going to have to reach another QF soon in these weaker events.
Good win for Goodall over Eaton though, which probably was expected, and I hope he'll be able to take out Ysern in the next round, as he's a better player
