RE: Week 32 - New Delhi Challenger III [50K] - 2008.

Now I get it! The Combo draw has the qualifiers.

Anyway, don't take Yuki lightly and Slabba would much rather have faced Aqeel Khan. He turned 16 two weeks ago but missed out on qualifying for ATP Mumbai by a third set tiebreaker. Also, he took a set off Feeney in May on the same grounds as here. His current Junior year hasn't been going that well since he reached the semis of AO Juniors, but he was working at IMG/Bollettieri a few days ago for the hard court season. While I expect Slabba to win in straights, this boy is someone to watch out for in the future.

The mystery source was the Order of Play for Monday, which has Slabba vs. Bhambri on it!

Is happens often that the OOP gets updated in advance on the draws.

All the best to the lads...Josh, Alex, Chris for today / tomorrow !

Slabba won by 76(2) 57 62.

Eaton won by 62 75.

Yoshi won by 62 64.

Massive well done to Yuki, too. He'll be a great player, I'm sure.

Great news on the scores there.

Just off the topic Vandenburg - what the hell is that on your avatar? It looks like the bunny in Donnie Darko's older brother!

Can't complain about those scores, and 3 nice first round wins is a great way to start the week and keep the boys moving up the rankings.

Slabba should beat Ysern in the 2nd round as well, which would guarentee us a QFinalist, and I'd suspect Goodall would beat Eaton.

Hopefully Ward can complete the set tomorrow and make it 4 Brits in round 2, which he really should do.

And Ivo Klec, the fourth seed, has been dumped out 7-6(5) 2-6 4-6 by the man from Japan (& Curry's! wink ), Toshihide Matsui (JPN)!

That's a really good start to the week - it'll be very sad now if Ysern does a double Brit bash and stops us from getting the semi-finalist from this section, but hopefully Slabba should take him out in R2 and put an end to that possibility.

Not just TVs:  my microwave is a Matsui, bought at a local branch of Curry's (no longer there!) & I've had it for many trouble-free years!  It's actually an own brand of a UK company called DSG International plc, which also owns Dixon's & Curry's (hence my earlier quip in parentheses wink ) & the story I heard was that it was chosen to fool potential customers into believing the goods were made in Japan because the common perception at the time was that electronics from the Far East were of a higher quality than those manufactured here.   Someone also told me that a lot of Matsui TVs sold in the 80s were actually rebranded Ferguson sets made here! disbelief.gif

Whats the surface ? Hard or soft dung ?

Soft dung, in those temperatures, would be a bit harsh on the players, and spectators. aww
