It had to happen didn't it... both Slabba and Goodall seeded in a pretty weak challenger... and they get each other in the QF's... still, should get us a semi-finalist though.
James Ward vs. Jose (rubin) Statham (With top seed Udomchoke in round 2) (6) Alex Slabinksy vs. Qualifier (Ysern or Jones in round 2) Chris Eaton vs. (WC) Mohammed Ghareeb (with Goodall in round 2) Takao Suzuki vs. (3) Josh Goodall (with Eaton in round 2)
Ward and Slabba should ease into the second round, but a bit harder for Eaton and Goodall.
Unless Suzuki's serve is perfect, Goodall should win though as Suzuki is past his best and is having an awful year, but he's still dangerous, while Eaton has a 50-50 match in which he'll have to play well to win.
yeh panda i was thinking exaclty the same thing, ghareed has been getting this random asian wild cards for a while now, maybe hes some bollywood tennis playing superstar out there?
Doubles draw is out... and the typical British luck has come out for the draw..
Goodall and Ward vs. Eaton and Slabinksy in the first round!
Goodall, Eaton and Slabba (plus the doubles) all on the OOP for tomorrow, and Slabba draw Yuri Bhmabri as his qualifier, and as he wasn't even seeded for qualifying, it looks like a very nice first round draw
Okay. My ATP draw doesn't show the qualifiers, no matter how many times I refresh it.
I don't think Yuki will trouble Slabba, but I won't be shocked if he does. He's a massive talent who'll probably be top 100 someday, plus this is his home tournament.
