Welcome to the site L-T-G! Thanks for the mini player reports - although I wouldn't advertise your attendance at tournaments too often otherwise you may find people sniffing around for match reports and live scores [although, if you're interested... ]. Glad you enjoyed your first Futures experience though! So of all the players you have seen who impressed you the most ? ...aside from Evans and Flangan!
hi guys, went to watch my futures event this week and had a great time. really impressed with young dan evans, he looks the real delal as far as im concerned. shame i cant make it to his final tomorrow. flanagan and daniels was an awesome match!! loved ian's forehand, he hit lots of winners and always looked a threat with that shot. also watched the doubles final and great to see an all british final, with the best pair winning as far as im concerned. thoroughly enjoyed my day watching some 1st class tennis, hoping to go and watch some more in the coming months!!!
Hi, Jacob, welcome to the board, and thanks for the comments - interesting.
I just turned my phone on to find multiple messages from JL ... I didn't realise he was going to text me if he went. I'll post them in rapid succession, a very quick update of the match so far:
11.22: Evans leads 2-1 on serve, serving and volleying about 50% so far.
11.27: Flan breaks for 3-2
11.40: Evo *3-5 Flan
11.45: Flan wins 1st set 6-4, "his class showing through".

Wonder if the LTA site will have an article now? And if they do, I wonder if they'll censor his name to D****l E***s because he's banned?
Hope Flanagan is all right and will play regularly from now on. Shame Cox had to draw him early on as this is the last Futures he'll have played for a while.
Well done Evo, though sad to win what sounds like a close match with your opponent retiring. But not to detract from his win, he's done well to go from qualifying all the way to win the event.
Is there any chance he'll get into Cumberland without having to qualify?
Already due to move up 150 places on Monday thanks to last week's exploits, this win will made Evo "top Dan" (i.e. ahead of Cox) and he will go up over 200 places more into the top 800, possibly just scraping into the top 750!

Great! Now that he has made some money, I wonder if he'll play a tournament or two outside Britain this year? Challenger qualies would be a good move, if it's possible.
I bet that the LTA people are kicking themselves right now as he would have had a chance of winning USO in this sort of form. I'm loving it.
He was 4th Alt with 3 SE places open and none likely to be taken up, so there's a pretty good chance he'll be a DA, especially if Flan (1st Alt) has to pull out because of that wrist injury.
However, I don't think he can get an SE if he isn't a DA because this match ended before qualifying sign-in there.

Maybe he needed the kick though - if that's the case and it's made him more determined and allowed him to escape from the junior tournaments, it could be good news all round.
