Well done Josh on the win, and with the draw opening up, it's not unreasonable to suggest he won't qualify, as there's no-one in his section he can't beat on a fast hard court.
Nishikori replaces Hewitt in the main draw, who's out for the season with hip surgery (and surely will retire after next years Aussie Open)
Around 25%? Cuevas hasn't had a great year and Bloomers would have had a good chance had his outdoor hard record been anywhere near his grass/indoor results.
I don't really understand why Bloomers doesn't do much better in the US. It's not like Wimbly or Queen's are much faster these days...
I certainly hope that he won't retire, FD. Actually I doubt it as there was no injury when I last heard - just to get him back to full fitness. And I am not sure if it's worth it for just three or so months?
It's not like a Brit to post a comprehensive win just as his draw opens up, is it! Very encouraging win by Josh
Fingers, toes, eyes and big fluffy ears crossed time for Bloomers. I'm not going to tempt fate by making any predictions out loud, but he could do with taking his chances when he's 5-4 up and has 0-30 on Cuevas' serve!
I see the match above him has gone to 11-9 and 8-6 t/bs so far!
