Looking at the Eurosport footage of the last 3 or 4 games Mel's movement was hampered by some tight tape binding on one leg (adjusted during the match), which also probably contributed to the sharp drop in serving potency. She looked to be lacking in energy as well, having no doubt put a lot in to yesterday's recovery as well as today's in humid conditions. Very good effort to win a set though - last time they played she only won 4 games.

It was looking so good when she won the tiebreak, but it just went wrong in the 3rd set I guess, and she ran out of energy to beat Bartoli.

Still, she qualified as pushed Bartoli hard, which must give her some confidence for the rest of the hard court season
