In Italy and it's on clay. No Brits in the main draw but there a few in qualies -

Johanna Konta
Abbie Probert
Jodie Williams

Entry list.


Sadly Johanna was still unranked when the list was made so she has to do qualies. But she'll probably be the top seed here so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Another 10K title would be great and is not impossible, but the field isn't easy.

Jo is the second seed in qualies as a higher ranked player took a wild card. Abbie Probert didn't turn up.

Johanna Konta [782] beat Linda Agazzi [Unr] of Italy by 61 63.

 

 


First round:

Johanna Konta [782] vs. Francesca Campigotto [Unr] of Italy.

 

Campigotto is 16 years old and has won only one round in a 10K till now. Junior record isn't too impressive either, so Joanna should win easily.

Won by 3 and 2.

Now she plays Elixane Lechemia [Unr] of France, who is 16 years old. She has won only two main draw matches so far, so Jo should beat her.

Now she faces Appollonia Melzani of Belgium. She's 1989 born and ranked 888, with wins at 10Ks on a regular basis. Jo should be winning, anyway.
