Bad day overall, as the only Brits who won were playing other Brits. Still, the encouraging part is that the three players who had the best chances of getting a title are still there.
Nice win for Evans and it was good to see Milton take the set. Very encouraging few days for Pritchard and hopefully he'll build on this.
Mathieu Rodrigues [457] of France vs. Marcus Daniell [1029] of New Zealand
Neil Bamford [649] vs. Daniel Cox [847]
Dayne Kelly [1007] of Australia vs. Daniel Evans [1133]
Clement Reix [676] of France vs. Gregoire Burquier [484] of France
Bamford against Cox could be a good match as they are both very good on grass, plus are in great form. Cox should win if he's playing his best tennis, although it won't be easy as Bam Bam beat Goodall and Ebden a few weeks ago.
Evans will beat Kelly unless he's tired, which is quite possible as he has played five matches in the last four days.
Bamford won easily as expected, and Cox struggled a lot more than I'd have expected against Pritchard, even with his big serve, but at least he got the 3rd set TB win.
I think Cox will do better against Bamford though, as he's a better player, and he seems to play to the level of his opponent, and I think he may win, although I wouldn't be surprised if Bamford did win.
Evans should beat Kelly, if the Evans of this week shows up, but I wouldn't be surprised if he did lose the match.
At least 1 in the SF's though, which is always something you'd want from a home futures

I think he fainted when he saw that he had two (relatively) easy matches in a row.

So, Tim and Jonny now face the French top seeds, whilst at least one Briton will go to the final from the lower half of the draw. Congratulations to BT's own correspondent on gaining his first-ever doubles ranking points (and a few quid!) - well done, Fitzy!
The doubles quarters were played, however - presumably indoors.

Erm, far be it from me to point out a typo, Derek, but didn't you mean Fitzpatrick? Understandable in some respects, since their distant ancestors would have been born "on the wrong side of the blanket", as they used to say, but there's nevertheless a bit of a difference between the first names of the two original "sires"!!!
O'Dear, O'My, O'Mea Culpa! (They're famous Irish folk born on the 'right' side of the blanket - how strange that concept seems nowadays!) Just testing to see if you're awake, Lynne! ... or, to be honest, keeping up my errors/words ratio. Ta, anyway, will correct it before anyone else notices ...
Yorkshire are playing at home at Headingly today at cricket. They were rained off yesterday, but play is progress today. Headingly is 16 miles from Ilkley.
So just track if they are playing the cricket, and you'll get the weather.
I was born in Ilkley....I would say fond memories, but actually none at all. Got moved to Cornwall when I was 18 months...
