RE: Week 30 - WTA Portoroz (Tier IV) - 2008.

I think she must be fairly strong as a person even if she is a bit mentally fragile sometimes on the court.

I would have been a jibbering wreck ages ago if I'd had to go through some of the matches she has.

Always makes me happy when she wins.

Credit where it's due. A great win for Katie that she wasn't expected to get at the outset!

clap.gif She must be gaining a lot of confidence from beginning to close out this type of match and against these type of opponents.

R2 opponent lower ranked but probably slightly more consistent...

Great boost for Katie. Let's hope for more of the same in round 2.

Elliot and Han win 10-1 in the winner takes all-super-mega-champions tie break. (I don't know what it's officially called to be honest)

Amanda and partner take the CTB 10-1 to give Amanda her first Tour win. All it needs now is for Sarah and partner to upset the second seeds to make a great day in Slovenia

Superb win for Sarah and Courtney, moving from grass to clay to hard in successive weeks with ease.

Frankly amazed by Katie's result. Delighted, but amazed.

Looking at the total prize money, it's only the equivalent of one of the top men's super Challengers and less than half that of a tournament like Newport ATP, but it counts as a WTA main tour event, so who cares. smile.gif
