Totally agree with you on the last point. I hope that he will do some qualies in the indoor hard/carpet season - Moscow and St. Petersburg would be best as the fields are weaker, you get 10 points for qualifying, and a full 10K dollars for playing your first round match.
I've always wondered as to why Brits almost never go there! It's not like they never travel far...

That's not really true though - Martin only played 3 main tour events outside the UK before his run to the Newport Final, reaching QR2 twice and going out in QR1 the other time. Boggo has had a go at ATP qualifying more often than that.
It was only after he got into the top 100 that Martin started playing main tour events on a regular basis.

yes i think boggo has tried his fair share of atp events, last year he opted to miss the spring indoor hard season to play atp in america, he was also going for atps after wimby last year but had the injury. it just didnt really pay off, he had some iffy loses, and some tough draws, but then the long lay off last year ment he wasnt in a postion to do it again this year.
if he can get his ranking back up to the top 150 then maybe he can think about mixing it up more. i just hope this current injury isnt too serious as it would be a real shame if he loses all the moment he has recently been building for himself.

i'd take that with a pinch of salt as there is always the possibility of alex changing it up a bit, but would be playing everyweek save the week there is no european challener, but the 3 atp's
the probable tournaments are: Grenoble, Mons, Rennes, Kolding, Aachen, Bratislava/Eckental, Dnep/Jersey, Helsinki
i think alex will have to decide closer to the time if he goes for the two big events or the 2 smaller events. i think perhaps the smaller events, as he will have had a couple of big events already and 1 at the end.

Using this thread, as the Jersey one's been locked: Dan has moved up 112 places in the rankings released today to world n° 327, which means that, as predicted, he's taken over from Bloomers (down 21 places to 346! ) as our national n° 5. Boggo's made a bit of progress, too: up 13 places to 179.

The list is very imcomplete but I have started to compile a list of British challenger doubles titilists and runner-ups and here is what I have got so far. I am not sure when Neil Broad started respresenting GBR and have no idea what happened with 1993 Bristol final (it just says WEA where the score should go).

From ITF, it looks like the last tournament Neil Broad played for South Africa was Wimby 1988 and oddly the first tournament he played for GB was Jo'burg 1988, where he was given a WC!
