Hopefully this will see the return of Jamie Baker !
big week from jamie as he is defending semifinal points
Probably because he isn't going to make the cut for the MS event, and doesn't think he's going to qualify, so is going for the cheaper points at the challenger.
Boggo is the 9th highest ranked player here, so needs someone to withdraw for him to be seeded, while Baker has to hope for a nice draw here, maybe a qualifer or a WC, as he needs at least a round 1 win here to try and defend some points (so he'll get Malisse)
Bad news is that Okun has made the cut, so he's the one to avoid, despite him terrible form this year, judging by Stoppini still having the hoodoo over him
So it's been confirmed then? I'm afraid so - based on sketchy info, it's due to a pulled muscle during the match against Stoppini. Dreadful luck when that draw was looking so nice.
Let's hope it's not too bad and the pull-out is just precautionary, in which case the rest might do him good, and that it's not something serious that's going to keep him out for weeks ... which would be just too cruel.

He's still in the entry list (or was of this afternoon when the lists were updated on MTF), and I haven't seen anything posted anywhere about an injury, so hopefully it's just something minor that affected him against Stoppini and he can play this week, or have to take this week off, but it's not anything serious.
Boggo though does try to play through injuries, so I could see him showing up here and getting his first round losers cheque, or try and play through the pain, but it may be sensible to try and rest for a week
alex definalty injured, pulled a muscle in his leg. i think its an injury he has had before, and unfortunalty at this moment cant say how long it will take to heal. as we know he will miss lexington, at the moment the plan is to go to vancouver but i think he will have to see closer to the time how its feeling. sorry i couldnt post anything earlier, was quite hard, esp when seeing FD post that he would be seeded at Lex and lnowing he was out, but i really wanted to wait till it came out offically.
its a real blow for him as it apperaed he was going about getting his year right on track and now a potentialy serious blow. if i get anymore info on the severity of the injury i'll let you guys know.

So Jamie gets a qualifier. You have to hope that he doesn't get Guccione or Somdev, especially the latter.
Somdev is yet to lose in his 24 matches as a pro (counting doubles and exhos) and last night he beat Marcus Fugate, a solid Futures level player, by 0 and 0.
