That seems a very weak draw for a Spanish Futures. Wardinator got a good shot at this imo

Has he won a match since he reached the final all those weeks ago, because I can't remember him doing so?
Just not happening for him at the moment, and it's beginning to look more and more like a fluke run to the final, but hopefully he can turn the form around at some point in the next few weeks.
He had a good win the following week against Marse-Vidri, and has won a few qualifying matches, but that's now six defeats in a row for the Wardinator.
Tagging that Marse-Vidri match onto the end of his wonder run, that has been the only week in his life where he has won a main draw Futures match so it's looking like that was a bit of a flash in the pan and he's not quite ready.
Yes, if Boggo's the poor man's Gasquet, the Wardinator's beginning to look like the poor man's Boggo.
More seriously, it's hard to know whether to be sad about the fact that his run to a Final seems to have been such a flash in the pan, or encouraged by the though that even if he's very inconsistent having just turned 18, that run to the Final might suggest that he could go far once he gets himself together.

There are no fluke runs in tennis. You are as talented as your best results show and need to get your mental strength to a level where you can reproduce it day in and out.
I don't doubt for a moment that Ward is a smashing player. Just needs to believe in himself and he'll get those results once again.
