RE: Week 29 - Frinton 10K - 2008.

Anyone know who was the last Brit to win a women's title before their 16th birthday?

Very exciting to see the youngsters stepping up. British women's tennis is moving forwards by leaps and bounds.

Great stuff. Good to see Tara showing her talent. Top 500 is a must this year now, maybe top 400 if she keeps these kind of weeks coming.

The only thing near to this since i've followed british tennis crca 2000 is Yasmin Clarke runner-up in a 10k in the USA at 15.

Anne and Laura Peterzan were bith 17 when they won 10k's

Congratulations to Tara. Brilliant winning a 10k at 15.

Yeah, 400 sounds good. She can go up to greater heights, but it'll probably be smart to save the tourneys for next year.

Hopefully IMG will get her a 25K wild card or two in Mexico this year. I think this grass season should have increased her value to the old heights once again. It's a great thing, as they can get you to any place in the world for even a week only, which the LTA won't/can't.

Well done, Tara.

Come on, Tara, win it all. Unlikely, I'm afraid - she's not consistent enough and should play 25Ks (or better) only from now on.

Tara is now up to 534.

As far as I can see, she's fifth in the world in the sub-1992 rankings. Behind Larcher De Brito, Karolina Pliskova, Hendler and Christina McHale.
