Week 28 - Futures F6 (10k) - Kramsach, Austria

L32: (4) Edward Seator WR 508 v (Q) Tim van Terheijden (NED) WR 1792

van Terheiijden is an 18-year-old who has recorded his first ranking points by winning two Futures R1 matches in the last three weeks, including a win against Schoorel WR 657, which I think was probably his first win against a player in the top 1000. Still, this is a good chance for Edward to get some points, with the winner of this match playing Pazicky WR 838 or an unranked WC in R2.

L16: (4) Edward Seator WR 503 v Michal Pazicky (SVK) WR 852

Pazicky is 1-3 lifetime against Brits, all in the last 9 months - he beat Chris Eaton last November but has since lost to Matt Smith, Wardy and Brassington.

The top two seeds went out here today, so Edward is now the top seed left i nthe top half of the draw. Let's hope he doesn't do what Brits usually do in that situation ...

Closer than I'd have liked, but at least he won, and he's got a winnable second round match as well, so a good chance of a QF that would be a decent result for the week

Oddly, today's results are now up on both ATP and ITF but with Edward's result missing. However, on one court, the winner of his R2 match plays in the first QF on court tomorrow, implying that they must be expected to finish the R2 match today - it's almost as if the R2 match was still going when the person who uploads the results had to leave for the night ...

Result still the only one missing.

However, what I'm liking about Ed's choice of tournaments is that he got his high ranking through the easier African ones, but this year he seems to trying higher European Futures where the standards are up a level. This is a step in the right direction for him - good selections Ed

Yet another one that was close, but not close enough:  according to the ATP site, Pazicky won 6-7(3) 7-6(7) 6-4! cry  Quite a battle by the looks of it! hmm
