I do yes and I'm studying the fine subject of German! What are you planning on studying and which halls of residence have you applied for?
I'm sure that if you're anywhere near county standard you stand an excellent chance of getting into one of the tennis teams. I myself am no more than an average club player so didn't even waste my time trying out [I am practising hard though.. one day, just maybe!! ha]
I will be studying engineering maths !! Have applied for Clifton first and then Churchill....have to wait till Sep to find out where, grrr !
which halls were you in ? any particular tips about what it was like there as a fresher ?
we'll have to have a hit sometime if you're up for that ! Hopefully I can get into a team but will probably have to see how high the standard is as I had a really serious injury last summer which still hinders me big time
I was and will be [I took the risk and re-applied for my halls of residence] in Goldney Hall; which is right across the road from Clifton Hill House. One of my friends was at CHH this last year and she seemed to think it was a great place to live. Obviously [opposed to Goldney] the halls are catered and aside from the breakfast times [awful if you don't have an early lesson and want to sleep in] she thought that the food was great and quite ideal as she can't cook [she is now of the mindset that she will be having meals with me next year now that she will be living in a flat!].
I think whichever halls you eventually end up in you will find it very easy to settle in as almost everyone is in the same boat and looking to make new friends and adapt to living away from home for the first time.
I would definitely be up for a hit, and just in case you aren't aware there are tennis courts within the grounds at CHH [and Goldney Hall for that matter], so finding places to hit won't be a problem. I myself am also a member at Clifton tennis club which is located about a 5-10 min walk from the union [the most hideous building in the city!]
Freerider: So I take it that you have decided against coming to Bristol next year? Also, by 'Bristool' are you referencing this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Stool_Chart ? ha
yeah its all about the stool chart ;) dodgy typing is due to a broken arm and yes i have decided against bristol, i really like the feel and the halls but my subject wasnt very good. but ill still put bristol in my top 5or6 for the ucas entry thing so never know might end up ging there after all !
